The composition of Kombucha

The kombucha drink is the product of fermentation by yeasts and bacteria introduced into the solution of sweet tea. These microorganisms will transform the tea and sugar in a range of by-products, most of which have useful properties for the maintenance and improvement of health.

Two aspects of the kombucha drink can help maintain and improve your health.

The live bacteria and yeast contained in the kombucha drink will strengthen the intestinal flora. The intestinal microbiota comprises several hundreds of different species of microorganisms. A healthy intestinal flora and in balance with the intestine will be able to compete more effectively against pathogenic bacteria. A constant supply of probiotic microorganisms helps to maintain the stability of the intestinal microbiota. A stable intestinal flora also improves the health of the immune system.

The fermenting tea will produce a range of molecules useful for the organism such as organic acids, amino acids, enzymes, vitamins of the B complex, polyphenols, tannins and flavonols. Some have antioxidant, detoxifying and anti-bacterial properties.
